Zaidian Kingdom

ATLAS CODEX OF CUPIS

Vol. I — Northern Dominion Records

Plate VIII — The Zaidian Kingdom

THE ZAIDIAN KINGDOM

The Northern Reaches of Cupis
Realm of the Warrior Queen

PRIMARY DESIGNATION

Zaidian Kingdom
“Where Strength is Proven, Not Given”

GEOGRAPHIC DOMINANCE

  • Region: Northern Reaches of Cupis
  • Climate: Perpetual frost cycle, glacial winds, violent seasonal storms
  • Terrain:
    • Frostbite Seas (encircling trade + war routes)
    • Jagged mountain ranges (natural fortification)
    • Open tundras (no place to hide weakness)

This is not a land that shelters its people.

It tests them.

CAPITAL — THORNFROST KEEP

At the center of Zaidian power stands:

Thornfrost Keep

  • Elevated above surrounding land—never equal to it
  • Surrounded by natural choke points (river + icebreak terrain)
  • Built to be seen from a distance

Unlike Moonhollow, which draws inward…

Thornfrost projects outward.

Archivist’s Note:
Moonhollow hides its power.
Thornfrost declares it.

STRUCTURAL PHILOSOPHY

  • Walls are thick, visible, and scarred
  • Towers are functional—not ornamental
  • Expansion is linear, not circular

Nothing in Thornfrost suggests mystery.

Everything suggests readiness for war.

RULE OF THE QUEEN

Zaidian is ruled by a Warrior Queen.

Not symbolic.

Not ceremonial.

Proven.

  • Leadership is maintained through strength, not lineage alone
  • Challenges are not uncommon—only rarely survived
  • The Queen is expected to lead from the front, not behind walls

Marginalia — etched deeper than the rest:
“A Zaidian Queen does not inherit a throne.
She holds it.”

KEY REGIONS — VERIFIED

Bearmoot

  • Gathering ground of warriors and clans
  • Likely site of oath-binding and war councils

Hraldirgaard

  • Secondary fortress
  • Reinforcement point—possibly houses elite guard

Runestone Fields

  • Ancient standing stones
  • Unknown origin—predates current rule

Field Note:
Some stones hum during storm conditions.

Howling Tundra

  • Open, deadly terrain
  • Sound travels unnaturally far

Bitter Wilds

  • Forested but hostile
  • Survival requires more than skill—requires instinct

Frostbite Sea

  • Both barrier and weapon
  • Zaidian ships are built for war first, travel second

CULTURAL OBSERVATIONS

  • Strength is currency
  • Weakness is not hidden—it is corrected or removed
  • Bonds are forged in combat, not comfort

Children are not shielded from hardship.

They are introduced to it early.

COMPARATIVE NOTE — SEALED

Where Moonhollow bends reality inward…
Zaidian hardens reality outward.

One contains.
One conquers.

Should these two ever turn fully toward each other—

It will not be a war of land.

It will be a war of philosophy.

FINAL ANNOTATION — RESTRICTED ACCESS

The cold preserves more than bodies.

Beneath Thornfrost Keep, the ice does not melt.

Even in fire.

Even in war.

There are layers beneath the Keep…

And something in them remembers
every ruler who ever claimed the crown.
