✦ Addendum of Meeting Grounds and Border Towns ✦

(Places Between Realms and Neutral Zones)

“There are thresholds between the known and the nameless,
where even gods bow their heads before the laws of silence.”
— Lysander of Sutra, Fifth Cartography Journal

1. The Crossroads of Glass and Dust

(Where All Paths Are Reflected)

Mythic Chronicle:
It is said that when the world was young and its borders still dreaming, the gods drew lines of light and shadow to divide the realms. Yet one place refused division — the Crossroads of Glass and Dust, where four winds met and neither claimed dominion. Here, time folds like silk, and travelers who pass through may meet their own echoes from roads not taken.

Field Scholar’s Record:
Located at the very heart of Idera’s map, the Crossroads manifests as a crystalline plain underlain by fine, shifting dust. Each step leaves no footprint. Merchants, pilgrims, and exiles alike gather here under the moon’s truce for trade and discourse. Legends suggest mirrors of obsidian once marked each cardinal route, but only fragments remain.

— Lysander’s Note:
“Even now, I do not linger here long. Reflection may reveal what memory hides — and some mirrors remember too much.”

2. Iseiran Pass

(The Corridor of Breath and Stone)

Mythic Chronicle:
When the North’s frost met the East’s dawn, their collision carved the Iseiran Pass — a wound that healed into a bridge. Two dragons of opposing flame once slept here, their bones forming the frozen arches that crown the summit.

Field Scholar’s Record:
Iseiran Pass links the Northern and Eastern frontiers through perilous switchbacks and natural stone corridors. Both realms guard their sides, yet the center remains neutral, patrolled by monks of the Breath — a sect who maintain the balance of air between frost and sunfire. Crossing requires silence and tribute, usually in incense or song.

— Lysander’s Note:
“The Pass listens. Speak above a whisper, and the wind will remember your tone — then return it in a storm.”

3. The Town of Veyra

(The Floating Border)

Mythic Chronicle:
Veyra was founded when a goddess of tides fell in love with a wanderer of smoke. To stay with him, she anchored her reflection upon the sea. The result was a city that drifts upon its own mirage, forever moving between the Southern and Western waters.

Field Scholar’s Record:
Constructed atop vast wooden rafts bound by living coral, Veyra migrates with the seasons — westward in winter, southward in summer. Known for its half-day markets, where time is measured by the swell of the sea, it serves as a neutral trade port. Local governance alternates yearly between a Southern matriarch and a Western councilor.

— Lysander’s Note:
“Veyra’s children never learn a single shore. Perhaps that is their strength — a people unmoored, yet never lost.”

4. The Twin Gates of Aermund

(Where Stone Keeps the Balance)

Mythic Chronicle:
Two artisans — one from the North, one from the West — each sought to sculpt a gate to eternity. They worked unaware of one another until their creations, born of different stone and vision, met at the border and locked together perfectly. The gods took notice and declared the site sacred.

Field Scholar’s Record:
Aermund’s Gates stand at the convergence of two trade roads, built from distinct stone — silver granite of the North and dark marble of the West. Each bears inscriptions in half-forgotten runes. Diplomats and messengers must pass between both arches to mark neutrality; to cross one only is considered an omen of broken alliance.

— Lysander’s Note:
“I passed once through only the Western arch, and for three nights my compass spun like a dying star.”

5. The Market of Hollow Reeds

(The Bazaar of Oaths)

Mythic Chronicle:
When the gods first traded secrets among themselves, they did so in the sound of wind passing through reeds. The Market of Hollow Reeds was born of that divine commerce — a promise that trade, when bound by silence, is sacred.

Field Scholar’s Record:
A nomadic market appearing annually near the Riverbend, its location changes with the current. Those who come must surrender all weapons and pride. Voices are hushed, and bargains are sealed in breath — reeds cut from the riverbanks, carved and tied into knots that signify contract.

— Lysander’s Note:
“The reed I tied there still hums faintly when the moon rises. It remembers the trade I made — and the promise I regret.”

6. The Shrine of the Fifth Dawn

(The Temple of Lost Hours)

Mythic Chronicle:
After the Fourth Dawn was born — the sunrise that divided the realms — there was said to be a Fifth, never seen, that governs lost time. The Shrine stands where light and shadow cease to argue, and dreams become scripture.

Field Scholar’s Record:
A small temple without patron realm, located in the shifting desert east of Iseiran. The walls are covered in hourglass mosaics; its central altar contains no idol, only an empty bowl where pilgrims pour sand from their homelands. The air hums faintly, bending perception — many claim hours vanish or repeat inside.

— Lysander’s Note:
“I entered at dusk and emerged at dusk. The same light. The same hour. Yet I had changed.”

7. Silverwood Hall, at Silver Springs

(Where Peace Is Poured in Silver)

Mythic Chronicle:
Silverwood Hall rose from the joined dreams of two queens — one Northern, one Western — who longed to end their bloodline’s feud. From the ground where they embraced, silver water began to flow, and there they built a hall where oaths could neither lie nor break.

Field Scholar’s Record:
Situated deep within the neutral valley of Silver Springs, Silverwood Hall serves as a Vesper estate for councils of peace. Royals, generals, and emissaries gather here beneath its mirrored dome. The hall’s foundation stone is said to hum softly when deception is near. A treaty of silence governs the estate — no war may be spoken within its walls, nor deceit uttered without consequence.

— Lysander’s Note:
“I once saw Daichi and Lady Cho dine here in the same room, and for a heartbeat, even the springs dared not ripple.”

[Later Addendum, per the Archivist’s Hand]

(Inscribed in the margin in faded gold, beneath the sigil of a curled quill.)

On the Sea of Elyndra — The Singing Veil of Idera

In the elder editions of the Codex, the Sea of Elyndra was not accounted for among the sacred divisions, though she girds the land entire. It has since been affirmed by both priest and scholar that Elyndra is not a mere boundary, but a living memory — a fifth mirror to the Four Realms.

The High Cartographers of the Third Era marked her with this sign:
𓆝 A crescent above three waves, encircled by seven stars.

Let it be known henceforth that the Sea of Elyndra binds all, remembers all, and must be entered upon with prayer.
