Samuel is a nine-year-old boy with short brown hair and watchful brown eyes.

He lives beneath the Wolfwater Bridge after the death of his mother. Grief makes him cautious, but hardship has not yet destroyed his ability to trust. Mike cares for him, providing protection within the encampment, while Femi makes certain he eats, has clean clothing, and remembers that someone is thinking about him.

Samuel understands Femi without needing her voice. Their connection is built through small gestures, shared food, written notes, and the quiet companionship of two people whom Ravenside has repeatedly failed to see.

Femi does not treat him as a burden.

She treats him as a child.

For Samuel, that distinction means everything.
