Lord Yuu
Lord Yuu is the sovereign ruler of the Dragon Territories and one of the oldest, most feared beings within yokai society. Ancient even by dragon standards, Yuu commands both political and elemental power on a scale few creatures dare challenge openly.
He is not merely respected.
He is obeyed.
Tall, imposing, and carrying the overwhelming presence characteristic of dragonkind, Yuu possesses pale skin, sharp blue eyes, pointed ears, and scaled markings that become more visible when angered. Even in human form, there is something immense about him—something ancient enough that most people instinctively lower their gaze in his presence.
And those who do not—
usually learn why dragons once ruled kingdoms outright.
The Dragon King
Yuu governs the Dragon Territories from a court built on law, hierarchy, and absolute loyalty. Dragons are not known for softness, particularly toward miko, whom many ancient dragon clans historically viewed with suspicion.
Which is why Yuu’s acceptance of:
Luna Sano
shocked the entire dragon court.
“Gaea Papa”
At first, Luna existed within Yuu’s territory only because of Ryuu’s attachment to her.
Then Yuu began watching.
He saw:
- her manners
- her restraint
- the terror hidden beneath her silence
- the way she apologized for existing simply by becoming smaller
And slowly—
something shifted.
The moment Luna called him:
“Gaea Papa.”
everything changed.
Not politically.
Personally.
From that day forward, Yuu no longer viewed Luna as merely Ryuu’s chosen sister.
She became:
his hatchling.
And dragons protect their hatchlings with terrifying devotion.
Relationship with Ryuu
Yuu’s son,
Ryuu,
is perhaps the only person capable of consistently softening the Dragon King’s demeanor.
Though Yuu rules with frightening authority, he is deeply protective of Ryuu and quietly indulgent toward many of his emotional impulses—especially where Luna is involved.
Yuu understands something others often miss:
Ryuu’s love for Luna saved him from loneliness.
Relationship with Tyr Moon
Yuu initially viewed:
Tyr Moon
with heavy suspicion.
Not because Tyr was unworthy.
Because Luna was precious.
However, Tyr earned Yuu’s respect by:
- formally requesting permission to court Luna
- respecting dragon law and hierarchy
- seeking approval from Fei before proceeding
- and standing before the Dragon Court without fear
Even then, Yuu made one thing brutally clear:
If Tyr harms Luna—
war follows.
Relationship with Fei and Hakon
Yuu maintains wary but respectful ties with:
- Lord Fei
- and Hakon Moon
All three are dangerous men in vastly different ways.
And all three became quietly bound together through Luna’s existence.
Personality
Yuu is:
- ancient and deeply intelligent
- emotionally restrained
- fiercely territorial
- overwhelmingly protective
- and capable of catastrophic violence when enraged
Unlike younger rulers, Yuu does not need to prove power.
He simply possesses it.
The Court of Dragons
Within the dragon court, Yuu’s word functions almost as sacred law.
When he declared Luna one of his hatchlings, the dragons followed his lead without hesitation. This transformed Luna’s status overnight from tolerated outsider to protected member of the dragon domain.
Those who insult Luna within dragon territory are dealt with severely.
As Monk Rasan discovered personally.
The Truth About Lord Yuu
Many fear Yuu because he is powerful.
That is not the terrifying part.
The terrifying part is that beneath all the ancient control and kingly restraint—
Yuu loves deeply.
And ancient creatures who love deeply do not forgive threats lightly.
Especially where family is concerned.
Final Note
Lord Yuu rules like a mountain:
Still.
Ancient.
Unmoving.
But mountains are not gentle things.
And if anyone ever truly endangered Luna Sano—
the world would finally remember why dragons were once treated as living disasters instead of kings.
