ATLAS CODEX OF CUPIS

Vol. I — Sehil Dominion Records
Plate VII — Moonhollow, Capital Basin
MOONHOLLOW
Capital of Sehil · The Hollow Crown of Cupis
PRIMARY OBSERVATION
Moonhollow is not a city that expanded.
It is a city that was placed.
The land descends in perfect intention—forming a natural basin whose geometry mirrors the three-gate alignment visible in the upper cartographic rendering of Sehil.
At its center:
The Stronghold.
Not built within the city.
But the reason the city exists at all.
REGIONAL CONTEXT
- Dominion: Sehil — Southern Lands of Cupis
- Surrounding Territories:
- Silverwood Forest (North of central basin influence)
- Verdant Marshes (Southern lowlands feeding trade routes)
- Sea of Veils (Western maritime boundary)
Moonhollow sits not at the edge of power—but directly at its gravitational center.
Archivist’s Note:
Trade routes curve toward Moonhollow even when straighter paths exist.
STRUCTURAL GEOMETRY — VERIFIED
Moonhollow is built in true concentric rings.
Not symbolic.
Precise.
Outer Ring — The Living Town
- Dense habitation
- Warm light, trade, noise
- Movement appears natural… but always circular
Middle Ring — The Quiet Rise
- Structures widen, spacing increases
- Fires dim
- Streets subtly guide inward
Inner Ring — The Approach
- Minimal habitation
- Stone replaces wood
- Sound dampens unnaturally
Center — The Stronghold
- Absolute anchor point
- Architectural dominance without excess expansion
- The city orbits it

THE THREE GATES — VISUAL CONFIRMATION
Each gate is not merely an entrance—it is a state of passage.
Gate I — The Golden Threshold (Arrival)
- Warm, radiant, almost welcoming
- Likely primary ingress
- Light spills outward
Marginalia:
“It invites. That is its first deception.”
Gate II — The Celestial Arch (Observation)
- Star-etched, cooler, controlled
- Light feels contained rather than emitted
- Possibly used for sanctioned movement or oversight
Field Note:
This gate does not glow—it calculates.
Gate III — The Ember Descent (Return or Release)
- Positioned lower in your composition
- Light pools like sunset trapped in stone
- Feels heavier… final
Red Ink Annotation:
“This is not an exit. This is a decision.”
THE STRONGHOLD — CENTRAL ANCHOR
- Multi-spired, vertical dominance
- Gothic influence—reaching upward while rooted deep
- No visible outer defenses
Because it doesn’t need them.
Archivist’s Observation:
The Stronghold does not defend the city.
The city exists to defend what lies beneath it.
LUNAR / LIGHT BEHAVIOR (VISUAL CORRELATION)
Even in warm tones, your city behaves like a light trap:
- Illumination gathers in the basin
- Outer forest remains darker by comparison
- Gates act as light thresholds, not just physical ones
This supports the theory:
Moonhollow doesn’t reflect light.
It holds it.
BEHAVIORAL ANOMALIES — CONFIRMED BY STRUCTURE
- Roads never cut straight through rings
- Movement is always curved
- All paths eventually orient toward the Stronghold
Cartographer’s Note:
“I tried to draw a straight line through the city. The map refused to keep it.”
SEALED COMMENTARY — LEVEL RESTRICTED
Moonhollow is not simply the capital of Sehil.
It is a constructed convergence point—
stabilized by three gates, anchored by a central structure,
and fed by the land itself. The basin is not erosion.
It is absence.
Something was removed.
And the Stronghold was placed to keep it that way.
