The Aegis Body Armor

Type: Living Armor (Verdant Grace + Lunar Forging)
Origin: Crafted by Umbra for Daichi alone. Fashioned of silverleaf bark, lunar thread, and her own divine breath. The armor was never meant for war—it was meant to keep him whole when she could not be near.
Appearance:
At first, it is only a chestplate of pale metal veined with vines and moonlight. When worn, it grows outward—flowing over the body like liquid silk, solidifying into full armor that moves and breathes as if alive. The faint outline of leaves and wolf sigils shimmer across its surface, pulsing with Umbra’s heartbeat.
Magic:
- Aegis Bloom: Expands from chest to full-body armor, forming a second skin. Responds to Daichi’s intent—light and flexible in peace, impenetrable in wrath.
- Vital Synchrony: The armor feeds on Daichi’s heartbeat, strengthening with his resolve but weakening when he doubts himself.
- Lunar Regeneration: Minor wounds close beneath its surface, using the armor’s stored essence to repair both man and metal.
- Breath of the Goddess: In moments of mortal peril, it exhales—a living pulse of Umbra’s energy that can repel a fatal strike.
Ritual of Bonding:
Worn for the first time during the Night of Silver Rain. Umbra whispered a vow into its chestplate: “Let no blade find what my hands have held.”
Cost:
The armor feeds on Daichi’s emotional core. When he succumbs to despair, it falters—its vines wither, its shimmer fades. The more he bleeds for others, the stronger it becomes.
Weakness:
If corrupted by Chaos Magic, the armor’s vines may grow inward, piercing the flesh in an attempt to “protect” too fiercely.
Marginalia:
“It does not obey commands. It obeys love.”
✧ Scholar’s Note
Both artifacts mark the intimate duality of their creators—Umbra’s instinct to nurture and Daichi’s instinct to protect.
Together they form a loop of devotion that even gods envy and mortals fear: love as armor, longing as weapon.
